Dis/Play is a project that shines a light on over 50 disabled creatives telling their own stories through photography, illustrations, and other artistic mediums, woven into a 10-minute multi-media display that was projected onto unique exterior walls across Toronto, Treaty 13 territory, in November 2021.
Featured storytellers included Jasmine Noseworthy Persaud, Winter Plum and Michel Dumont.
Each artist was asked to submit words that represented the intention or point of view of their submitted pieces. These words were then woven into an original music piece, underscoring the projections as a form of poetic audio description.
Dis/Play was devised and produced by Ophira in partnership with the ReelAbilities Film Festival Toronto/Miles Nadal JCC as part of ArtWorxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021-2022.
