#CripTheScript
To challenge, reframe, and reclaim language, systems, stories and stages to centre ‘Crip’, or disability, identities and experiences
Throughout the development of Literally Titanium, our team worked to create a framework that prioritizes and supports disabled people, and anyone that the status quo doesn’t work for. From the content of the script, to the way production and rehearsals are structured, to the audience experience, we explored different ways to weave accessibility throughout every part of the show, embracing disability aesthetics and cripping the literal script, along with the traditional structures of theatre.
You can learn more about our thought process behind #CripTheScript here - a reflection piece titled ‘A Different Kind of Hustle’.
You can also learn more about the way we incorporated this framework into Literally Titanium, here.

We are available for consulting and workshops! Some examples of what we offer are:
Literally Titanium: A Case Study in a Relaxed Process
In this workshop we delve into the different ways that we relaxed the process of building a show within a theatre festival, including how we brought accessibility to the script itself, the production and rehearsal process and the performance itself along with the audience experience.
access as art: A MASTERCLASS
This workshop focuses on how to relax the sensory elements of performance along with other accessibility measure and explore how incorporating access can open up exciting new possibilities for your work. Participants bring their work and we work together to dig into the content, intention and find ways to relax it, exploring different options for access and making it more inclusive!
Crip Storytelling
So much of our stories about disability and chronic illness exist as a plot mechanism. A character gets injured or sick, then the situation worsens, and at the end there’s a resolution where the character is either cured, or dies. But that doesn’t reflect the reality of lived experience. This workshop explores how this structure shapes the way we, as a society, understand and engage with disability and chronic illness and how we can shift it to centre disability experience.
What do you need?
We’re also available craft new workshops and consult one on on with individuals or companies! We’re happy to meet you where you’re at and together we can find new ways to build and grow our frameworks and #CripTheScript.
